Llanymynech Quarry

First time climbing here after checking it out and walking round it when I was younger. Very inspiring place as the walls are massive!

Climbing with Leon from Plas Power and headed over to Bay Wall. Climbs all in the 6's. Interesting sort of climbing here, very blocky and all looks easy from the ground. Mainly sustained routes although very dirty! Also met two of Leon's mates Phil and Taum good guys.

Highlight of the Day: Repointing my second 6a+ "Bay City Stroller".

Climbed for about 8 hours and got on plenty of routes. Only lead the 6a+ I redpointed as I let Leon take the lead so I could try some hard stuff on top-rope (excuse!).

By the end of the day we were knackerd and Leon got stuck on a 6a+ which was hilerious after watching him effortlessly On-Sight a 6c+ an hour earlier. Brilliant!

Summer Bay Babe - 6a - Warm up on Top rope
Bayonets Ready - 6b - Top-rope On-sight
Welcome to the Bay - 6b - Top-rope Rests
Be my Baby - 6b+ - Top-rope Rests
Bay City Stoller - 6a+ - On first redpoint
Bayeux Tapestry - 6c+ - No idea why I tried this, actually did better than I expected. Pretty rubbish route as it's just a series of overhanging ledges! Either way strong effort with Leon On-Sighting it!

Great place all in all. Planning on returning Wednesday!
